Founded in 2015, Industrial Home began with a simple mission: to honor the grit and grace of America’s past through thoughtful design. In 2017, we opened a popup store that brought our vision to life for the first time, allowing customers to experience our pieces up close – the textures, the weight, the stories woven into every grain and seam.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as industry flourished, so did a unique style of living. America's industrial pioneers, visionary magnates, and master artisans alike furnished their homes with sturdy, honest materials: solid oak, aged leather, cast iron, and raw steel. Founder Eleanor Blackwell draws inspiration from this legacy. As the granddaughter of a Pittsburgh steel magnate and daughter of a master woodworker, Eleanor grew up understanding that quality materials tell stories that span generations. "My grandfather used to say that the best homes combine strength with soul," Eleanor shares. "That's the essence of what we create at Industrial Home."
